Using HuntKit Offline
- Does HuntKit work without an internet connection?
- Yes. All core data (territory, POIs, hunting journal, seasons database, ballistics profiles, documents) is stored locally on the device in an IndexedDB database and can be read and written without a network. Cloud sync catches up once a connection is available again.
- Why does offline capability matter for a hunting app?
- Hunting grounds are often in dead zones. HuntKit is built local-first: the app queries the local database first, not the server.
- Does the SOS emergency system work offline too?
- The emergency alert has an SMS fallback: without a data connection, the emergency contact can be notified via SMS directly from the device. The server-side dead man's switch keeps running independently of the device.
