Document Vault: Access & Recovery

The vault is zero-knowledge encrypted — HuntKit CANNOT decrypt its contents. Recovery only with the recovery code generated during setup.

I forgot my vault passphrase.
Use the recovery code you received when setting up the vault — it restores access. HuntKit itself CANNOT decrypt your vault contents (zero-knowledge): without the passphrase and without the recovery code, the contents are irrecoverable.
Why can't support open my vault?
Deliberate security architecture: the key is derived from your passphrase on your device only and never leaves it. What the server doesn't have, it can neither hand over nor lose.
Where should I keep the recovery code?
Separate from your phone — e.g. printed with your hunting documents or in a password manager.
